'cigarette break at Bordeaux airport' original painting
The inspiration for this painting came from two main sources; the colours from a poster seen in a quirky shop in the town of Lewes, UK, and the leaves from a sketch done of a palm tree outside Bordeaux airport, where people were sitting enjoying the sunshine with their cigarettes. It was a sketch done into the sun, which is hard on the eyes, but brought out the strong light/dark contrast of the leaves against the sunshine.
60cm x 60 cm box canvas. Acrylic and charcoal on linen.
